Rincon Musical Inc. is the largest specialty Latin Music and Musical Instruments Retailer in the New York City/New Jersey Metropolitan Area. Founded in 1989, the company currently operates 11 retail stores, a wholesale one-stop distribution outlet and a retail website at www.rinconmusical.com. Rincon Musical stores are located in four of the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx) and West New York, New Jersey.
Rincon Musical offers a wide selection of entertainment products, including CDs, DVDs, Musical Instruments and related accessories. The company's headquarters, along with its main distribution center, is located in New York, NY with another distribution facility in Union City, New Jersey.
HISTORY
In November 1989, after working part time selling cassettes and related accessories at flea markets, Marilyn and Amalio Santos, Jr. opened their first retail music store under the name of Music Hut on Knickerbocker Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Identifying the need of a growing Latino Community, the company grew its specialty Latin music business to 11 retail stores. Along the way, in 1995 Rincon Musical established RM Distributors, a dominant One-Stop Distributor of Independent Labels, in the well known Latin Distribution corridor known as Tenth Avenue, New York City.
RM Distribution One-Stop supplies Latin Music and related accessories to Mom and Pop music stores and large chain stores throughout the United States. The company also exports to music stores in countries such as Japan, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France and Canada.
